ENCAUSTIC PAINTING A beautifully luminous form of painting developed in ancient Greece, now adapted to contemporary art expression. In this 2-day workshop you will learn the original, non-toxic techniques of encaustic painting with beeswax and have an understanding of basic techniques, including photo transfer. |
Susan Fisher graduated from
Concordia
University, honours BFA, majoring in graphics/sculpture and a post-graduate diploma in Art Education. She has a Masters degree in Native Art History and Anthropology from
Trent
University. Susan has taught at the Haliburton School of the Arts for 9 years. and in private workshops. She has shown in galleries both in
Canada and the

Andrew Csafordi, a graduate of Ontario College of Art in Toronto is an accomplished sculptor, illustrator and designer. Csafordi paintings at times seem as if he has reached down with both hands and ripped up the earth to show viewers what could lie beneath the surface... literally and metaphorically. www.andrewcsafordi.com
Workshops start in his Barn/Studio just a few minutes north of Bloomfield and then move to the Studio at Angéline’s for the duration of the workshop.

Janine Kinch, award-winning artist and inspiring teacher, was trained in the expressive arts. She creates a nurturing environment conducive to exploration and innovation. Passionate for the imagination as the "language of the soul” she has created many workshops for adults linking creativity with spirituality. As a member of the Milkweed Collective, she also facilitates the "Exploring Creativity in Depth” program for children and adults.

MODERN BATIK
Modern Batik is an updated technique combining dyes and wax, and paintbrushes, to produce vivid works of art. In this 2 -day workshop, you will learn the basic steps in the process of Modern Batik art. Previous art experience not required. You will leave with a finished piece of work and the desire to create more!

Toronto-based artist Gabrielle Lasporte has been the creator of many diverse art pieces from chalk & ink portraiture to textile art. She also creates masterpieces in modern batik. Cynthia McMillan has been creating original one-of-a-kind sculptures from polymer clay since 1988. As a self-taught artist her work ranges \from the traditional Santa and Canadian historical figures to elves, faeries, and angels. Cynthia has participated in many Canadian and US shows.
